I have a single purpose for this blog. That is, theGospel:
The good news of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ - that He died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, was buried, and was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
I am calling this theGospel: (with a colon) and not merely theGospel because from the Gospel of Jesus Christ and from the gospel alone truth is derived. The the faith following after Jesus Christ has doctrinal and behavioral implication, but all are built upon the foundation of theGospel. Today, as much as any day before the most important implication all people must hear is,
theGospel: salvation.
That is, we are all or were once sinners. Enemies of God who deserve(d) nothing short of all of His wrath. But Christ took the punishment for our sins and willingly died in our stead. But that is not the end of theGospel. Jesus was raised back to life, defeating sin and the power it had over us in death, offering us forgiveness and new life. We must merely repent of our sins, believe in faith that God raised Jesus from the dead and accept this free gift that he offers: salvation.
this is theGospel: salvation, and it is available for all, and a reminder to me of the new life that I live in and for Jesus.
There are much more doctrinal and behavioral truths that are drawn in the life that follows after Jesus. But this is what Paul wrote was of "first importance." I look forward to continue to share the doctrinal and behavioral implications build on theGospel:
