Dwelling on Dimanche - 1/16/12

If you didn't know, "dimanche"means "sunday" in french.  So, monday posts are reflections of church services where I worship and work, Harvest Bible Chapel - York Region.  Really good Sunday to kick this off too.  Here was the worship set list,

"Never Once" - Matt Redman


It was an acoustic worship set sans drum kit and electric guitar replaced a goombay and drum box.  Our worship guy put up a huge screen that he built for our summer kids day camp program with spandex
sails around it.  Pretty cool, really nice change of pace.  The sermon was from Hebrews 11:1-6, an off

from our series in 1, 2, 3 John.  The thrust of the sermon was "a faith that pleases God".  My biggest takeaway from the sermon was a quote from Warren Wiersbe that went something to the effect of "biblical faith is an obedience to God's Word despite situation or circumstance."  Really neat to see how the new sermon series we are starting in the Youth Ministry on faith lines up with the Sunday sermon also on faith.  God is continuing to work at Harvest in York Region.  We are seeing and praying for more! More salvation, more spiritual growth, more small groups, more people, more problems, more issues that can only by solved by Jesus! To that end and with that faith we are praying, that God would be glorified in our lives.
